On my back porch sits a clawfoot bathtub,

In the tub swim minnows from the tank,

amidst the roots and leaves of iris bulbs from the home place.

And every Spring-

When the swallows return –

They bloom a beautiful purple bloom.
They bloom Springtime.

They bloom promise.

They bloom love.

…they bloom happiness.
Every year.  Without fail.
Then sings my soul.
